Mill2

I started with Mill1 - had it on the design wall for a bit and realized that the buildings were really too small. Revised, cut down the sidewalk/road and made the buildings bigger, which then became Mill2. This one seems better proportioned. I was aiming for simplicity and starkness.
thanks for any comments.

Oooh-h-h, I like the 'feeling'...
never have been to a mill town, but that is what I would expect. About perspctives, etc. I cannot comment, but the 'essence' I definitely feel. I am glad you did this and posted it as well.Yes! take those pictures... posterity....

Hi Kathy,
I very much like the direction you took Mill 2 with the slight wonkiness and the more faded smoke stacks. It feels so murky and desolated...it must be dreary to work there.

Great job and I think a series on this would be wonderful!

Looking forward to seeing more of your work,
Cynthia

Hi Kathy - You did a fine job accomplishing the simplicity and starkness you were aiming for. The buildings in the background appear to be almost hidden by smoke from all those chimneys. They also contribute to the feeling of depth. Super.

What a great idea for a series. I would try to make the bricks go at an angle of a "v."

Kathy, it's great to see the progression from Mill1 to Mill2.
Well done,
Anna.
