I actually completed several recycled collages this last week for Fiber Art for a Cause and I think they meet the criteria for this challenge.

The one posted is What Flower Is This - it started with a scrap of fabric as the background and I frayed the edges. Then I added satin, torn paper pieces, netting, plastic curtain rounds, and embroidery thread --- all stuff I had laying around. Lately I've enjoyed incorporating paper into my quilts - there's such a great selection of papers that the scrapbookers use.

It's 7x9 mounted on an 8x10 mat.

This is a great little compostion, the eyes move around it well. The added touch of the two curtain holders are neat, remind me of 'lifesavers' we need to all be 'life savers' to save our planet :)

How fun. I really like your frayed edges. O.K. if I copy?

Amzing what we have just lying around, isn't it.
I almost used paper in mine, but found those scraps of silk...which I just love to quilt on.
Very nice.

Thanks for the comments. I like the "life savers" idea. Of course, Betty, it's ok to copy - isn't that how we learn new ideas?

Kathy, I was waiting for someone to use paper, and you did it beautifully! There are so many great items that go band forth between quilting and scrapbooking... I hope we see more of this with the new challenges yet to come!

I like the playful, whimsical look you have achieved and the variety of interesting textures used.
