Puzzling Nine Patch

Not much to say about this except the puzzle pieces are raw edged applique.

Since it is only 9" x 10" even though I hate to let it go I'm going to send it to Ami Simms for her Alzheimer's auction.

Betty,
This is a very colorful little nine patch. What is puzzeling me, is the fabric looks like it might be fleese, is that what you used? I'm sure you are really going to miss it, but it is great to support Alzeimers. Nice work. Joni

Thank you. It is all cotton.

Betty, this is a delightful little piece. A close look does look like it is a fleece of some type, but you say it is cotton. Your little puzzle pieces fit nicely in the 'nines'..... and the raw edge gives it a soft look. I am sure Ami will be happy to have this one!
[And so will whoever gets it!!].

I thought it was felt before I read the critiques.
I really like the curved border and piping? between the patches.

Thank you.

Isn't it funny how cotton can look like other fabrics? I just enlarged it and I can see how you would have thought it was felt. Maybe because enlarging blurred it?

It is satin stitched between the patches.

Hi Betty, very clever take on the nine patch. The colorful and shaped border & binding really make it sing!

Did you consider making one (or three) random puzzle pieces unique? Sometimes that is very effective in adding interest and a bit of a surprise...sort of like the Amish traditional of turning one block upside down.

Your work is always fun and I look forward to seeing it.

This is a fun quilt, but also very appropriate for the Alzheimer's auction. That disease is a realy puzzle, all right, and I salute you for thinking of donating it. I'll be looking for it...

I never thought of the connection between puzzles and Alzhiemer's, I was just thinking of the size. It will be awhile before I send it. I am waiting for Ami to catch up some with the ones she already has. I'm having cataract surgery in both eyes so I can't use the computer for the rest of the month so that will push it out even further.
