Pat Harvey's Challenge 29 reworked

I have changed my original challenge by using some of the suggestions from all of you wonderful artists. First I added blue net oveer the red background then quilted it a lot more. Then I outlined the birds within the bird so as to better see the tesselation. I am happy with the results. What do you think?

Hi Pat, I added your original piece next to your reworked piece so that we can really appreciate the differences. It looks wonderful (and a much better photo, too) The quilting lines add interest and movement and I love how the blue netting toned down the red. The hand stitching and edging emphasize the folk art feel of this piece ...very nice!
I always admire someone who can go back and do some reworking...it takes courage and persistence, and you can learn so much. Good job!

Hi Pat - I am amazed at the difference your changes made to this piece. The darker background helps push the featured birds to the front. And all your quilting adds a nice touch. I really like the hand-stitching and how it emphasizes the bird shapes. Great job of taking some suggestions and making them your own.
