Two Crows by Cynthia Ann Morgan

Two Crows 16 x 21"
I used a triad of colors in tints and shades for a subtler look than pure hues....blue-green tint with red-violet tint, blackened red-violet and blackened yellow-orange. My texture is the color variations and quilting lines in the tree branch as well as the dense background quilting. I used trapunto on the branch, birds and the moon to add some depth.
Comments and greetings welcome!

Your crows are so lifelike! The trapunto adds so much to the overall look. The muted colors are so soft and lovely...As always...great job!

This is a very pleasing composition. Interesting birds and I like the difference in width of the primary branch and the less important branches. Your work is always terrific. Another great job!

I love this piece - the choice of colors, the depth, everything. I wouldn't have thought to put the moon below the branch, but it is just right there!

Fabulous! I love the lucious burgundy colors you've used. The crows are quite dimensional. It is just perfect in my eye.

The crows are almost lifelike. Your color choice for them makes them very intriguing on a cold fall evening. Great job!

Such a graceful composition. I love the use of the empty space to balance the birds, moon, and branches. And I love the quilting in the sky.

I agree with everything said before me, this is a wonderful piece, the crows look like they can fly away at any moment, maybe after whatever it is that has captured the attention of the one in the front :-)
