extended rest

My husband always wears an apron like this when he works around the house. One day after a weeks rest he found morning glory growing over everything. Too bad the work isn't as quick as the morning glory. This challange really made me think out of the box. Thank you Rhoda.

Rhoda, I love the whimsey of your piece! You used all the colors so well in your dimensional rendering of the subject. I like the way you arranged the fence that everything is hanging on and the quilting so adds to your piece. You mentioned your granddaughter... I'm guessing she would like to have this piece someday? Great job!

You did a great job pulling the colors of the box into your work. I love the story about the morning glories and your use of the leaves and vines on your piece. And the fabric hammer is just too cool!

This piece is full of interest and visual appeal. The morning glories do such a good job of moving round the piece. The diagonals also work and then the hammer brings you back into the picture again. The stitching adds a lot as well.

Very interesting ideas.

Wonderful job Pat. I love the story of how the still life came about.
I really like your still life, well balanced and full of interesting textures, with the quilting vine, apron etc.

What a fun piece, full of texture and interest. What would happen if you cropped some of the brown on the left off? To me it feels a little heavy and somewhat takes away from the focus of the tool apron. Really like your story that goes with this, too.

Pat - I echo the comments above. The piece is very interesting and has so much dimension. What if the leaves were grouped more close together. Maybe the ones on the far left could be moved in closer. It is very interesting as is, however. Good job.
