Ch47 Evening Walk Solitude

As usual I am late. I am posting my piece, it is not stitched yet. Will post again when I get the stitching done. I really haven't used any new techniques, well I painted the background fabric so I guess that is sort of new for me. I am in bad need of some 'solitude' so after doing the trees it reminded me of such a quiet peaceful scene that I put the gal in, she looks very much like my niece. Odd how that happens when drawing faces. Enjoy.
The trees are more fantasy than anything. Thanks for the challenge Tobi. Now onto the stitching.

I have finished the stitching and the binding. Changed the birds out, there are three ravens can you see them.
Did a bit of hand stitching and am pleased to have this challenge completed, it's been awhile :) The color is more true in this photo too. Thanks for having a look.

Oh Rhoda... this is incredible...
I can feel the solitude presented by the small portion of the woman in comparison to the trees...it reminds me of the area around Ray Lake at Demmitt... so peaceful.
I absolutely LOVE how you are able to fit people into your work... and the 'raven'... always watchful..a very elegant piece and I can only imagine it will be better with the stitching complete.
A super response to this challenge.

Lovely piece. I think there are 2 ways to look at this piece. It can be a relaxing sunset with a girl out for a walk. Or, it can be a forest fire with the girl in front a fire fighter and the bird watching its home go up in flames. Sorry, but I see this because my niece works for the forest service and fights forest fires is the reason I see this. I really like it either way!

Great insight into the piece Jan, it certainly could be a forest fire :)

I feel the peace and serenity in this piece. It seems like a misty, cold sunrise with perhaps a dusting of frost on the trees? Elegant design and LOVE your painted background...well done Rhoda.

Rhoda, your piece really has a cool, calming effect. I love the way the sky gives the impression of twilight. You lovely lady seems to be really enjoying her stroll and her solitude. The gray trees in the back add depth effectively. Nice work!

Just the right amount of quilting to add interest and drama to this piece. I especially like your birds, good work Rhoda

Rhoda... how clever! Three birds... they are a great addition, rather than the one. I really like your stitching and of course, the hand stitches complement and give evidence of the 'hand of the artist'.
Good job!

Rhoda - I had to really look for the birds. They are an interesting addition. The change in size of the dominant one and the change in direction is especially effective. I also love the hand stitching on the woman. The stitching on this piece is wonderful. You should be very pleased with this piece as well as being pleased that it is done.

Terrific job!

She really does have a peaceful look. I like the 3 hidden birds in the second photo much better. It's always fun to discover hidden details while looking at art. I like the texture that the stitching adds too.
