RIVER DECO

It is all fused applique using silks, velvets, brocade and metallic lame's on black velvet. They are all satin stitched down using metallic threads. I couched the antique gold metallic around the outside of the whole design.
It measures 22"x23".

I LOVE Art Deco!! Thank you Carol for this fun challenge :-)

This is great! The glitzy fabrics really add to the appeal. I also like the lower rounded corners to go with the flow of the water.

I really like this quilt. It has great visual impact and visual texture. The lines of the flowing water easily leads the eye through the composition. You are brave to use so much metallic thread. I always run into problems with it about 3/4 of the way through!

Great composition, and good use of different textures. Looks like stained glass, and there was a lot of that in the period.

You've used so many elements of deco design-metallic, smooth and flowing, stylized, and the stained glass effect, too. It's a great example of the style.

This is a great piece and it just pops off the background with the use of the gold around the edges. All of the different color and types of fabric add to the richness to the work. You also achieved very good balance and movement.
