Detroit Skyline

Detail:
A photo from a cruise on the Detroit River is in the center. I learned how to apply special effects to it  in a software program, Fabric Studio and printed it on fabric. It was hand quilted with silver thread

Here is a second version. This time I did not tile it prior to the special effects.

Meena, your piece is quite interesting too! It reminds me of older band shells that used to be used for concerts and productions that were normally located in parks. The silver works very well with the unique image and special effects in your piece and gives it a sparkle quality. How big is it?

It turned out to be 6x6

If I'm not mistaken, the whole background uses the skyline image, and the quilting radiates out echoing one of the buildings. Great job, this is a wonderful piece.

I love it. It reminded me of a band shell too. The silver quilting adds some pizzazz, good choice! I'm going to check out the program you mentioned, it looks like it could be fun.

Such an interesting piece, I am drawn in by it! The monotone effect coupled with the use of metallic thread is wonderful. I really like the finished product which you have created. Outside the box in a very good way.
