Those tangled loose threads when the fabric comes out of the dryer are so pretty...just had to use them somehow!
This piece is postcard sized...5 x 8" and uses the wads of thread, bits of ribbon and trim and machine "lace" and quilted down with metallic thread to create a colorful mess!

I really like your "colorful mess".
ReplyDeleteI agree about not being able to throw away those threads. I have bags of thread snippets.

Cynthia... I have been playing with needlepunch so now I'm gonna save my washing threads too.... I bet they would be fun to punch in and then quilt. I really like this piece, your sense of color and design is always right on!
ReplyDeleteCynthia,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a lot of fun taming the wild threads into a beautiful "mess". I'm going to start saving my cut off threads.
Very nice use of those threads. It reminds me of a flower bloom opening
ReplyDeleteThe rich, deep colors in this really show up in the bigger picture. The clumps of threads almost look like brush strokes.
ReplyDeleteCynthia!! You have been in my Laundry room!!
ReplyDeleteI have a piece on my blog [archives] I called Musing and she is made using those threads as well as some serger thread I had to un'sew' and couldn't throw away!!
Obviously, I think this is a great and colorful way to use these threads.
