I was so excited to see the topic for this challenge. I love art deco and its cousin art nouveau. Thanks so much! I was determined to get something done this time, though!.
My project is not finished, but if I wait, I will have missed another deadline! The leaves and stems are simply fused to a background but the stems are "Mucha-like." I think I want to add some glitz embellishment to it, even if that may not fit the deco mode.
I love that you used the zentangle "mooka" to work in fabric on your piece. It's a wonderful design. Very fresh and spring-like.
ReplyDeleteI love zentangles, too, and I'm trying to use them more in my quilting. This seemed like a natural combo for this challenge!
ReplyDeleteZentangle is new to me. I never heard of it before. Pretty design.
ReplyDeletevery art deco color choices. Love the background fabric Did you stamp it?
ReplyDeleteIn my mind, Art Deco and 'glitz' are synonomous...LOL Love your design

Background is a Lonni Rossi print and I have deep pink and shiny green beads to add for the glitz, with probably some white beads for a little subtle shine in the background.
ReplyDeleteGreat piece and I look forward to seeing it beaded and quilted. Hope you post the pic.
ReplyDeleteAnother piece which speaks to me! I really appreciate the use of black and white in the background and the brighter colors seem to move forward, front and center. The organic stems and leaves say art noveau to me. I like that you are thinking of adding some glitz to it, imho it will make your work pop even more. Can't wait to see how you finish it.
