(No Inuksuk this time) I scanned a real Gerbera daisy, and printed it on fabric in two different sizes. The flowers and leaves and stems are fused, then free-motion embroidered. The daisy centers are also beaded. I didn't use any new techniques, but I really enjoyed making this.
Colors are yellow-orange, red-violet, and blue-green. Size 11 1/2" x 13"
This is a lovely piece, and lot's of texture. What is your triad color scheme? I'm wondering if you had a bit of green?
ReplyDeleteI really like the beading.
The triad is yellow-orange, red-violet, and blue-green. At least that's what the fabrics looked like holding them next to my elementary color wheel! Thanks for your comments! It was fun to get one done, finally.
ReplyDeleteHi Katie...What a happy piece! The colors are yummy and I love your quilting...

Hi Katie.. these are so pretty, I can see why you enjoyed making it.
ReplyDeleteA nice size to hang, too.
Well done.
Hi Katie, I like your psychedelic daisies...glowing colors and pretty fabrics. Good job!

Hi Katie, Your daisies are beautiful, and I especially like the way you quilted them to bring texture to them. The dark purple background sets them off well, and I like that you cropped one, it adds more interest. Nice use of beads too.
