Thank you Carole for this fun challenge. I have been wanting to learn pieced S-curves, and you gave me the push I needed. "Monarch" is 22" x 22". My yellow-orange is used with split-complementary colors of red-violet and blue, in various hues. LindaMac in Wyo
Hi Linda, I'm impressed that you did pieced curves. Nice color combinations so your butterfly plays nicely off the background.

ReplyDeleteThis butterfly is very impressive. I like where you have positioned it in the piece. The use of the narrow inner border works especially well.
Good work!
Oooh Linda.... am I ever glad you were 'pushed' to do this.. so worth it! It is lovely, your curves and colors, wonderful butterfly [and I am not one to ooo
ReplyDeleteover butterflies].

This is really a nice piece Linda.
ReplyDeleteGood job.
Hi Linda, Gorgeous colors and good contrasts and perspective. The butterfly looks like it is floating up close and there's a lovely view behind it in the distance...very effective. Great job!

The curves really led my eye around the composition. Well done. Also like the quilted butterflies flying across the blue sky.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteYour butterfly composition is very pleasing. The colors are exceptionally wonderful, you make the split complimentary sing! Great job.
Hi Liinda - Your butterfly composition is lovely. All the colors play together very nicely. I like the sense of distance you have created with the distant mountains. I also appreciate the way your border pulls its color from the butterly. I'm usually not a big fan of borders but this one enhances the quilt.
