So is That What It Looks Like?

Cellular view of Dis-Ease, I was amazed when I looked up a condition I have and found out that on a cellular level it was kind of pretty.

Lots of layers of started with deconstructed screen print, enhanced with stencil and fabric paint touched it off with minimal free motion and some puff paint to get the 3 d effect of the cellular changes occurring. finished is 8.5 x 11

  1. I love all the techniques you used on this piece that has so much personal resonance for you. I wonder if you added a rogue colour somewhere, what effect that would have.

Interesting to see beauty within cells.

  2. Rita,
You have some wonderful texture going on in this piece, and it is very pleasing to look at. I hope this exercise was somewhat therapeutic for you as well. It might add more interest to the piece if you added some more contrasting value to it, say a dark blue? Just a thought. Nice work.

  4. Hi Rita...
I love your complex cloth, it has such depth and dimension. I love it the way it is but agree with possibly bumping up the intensity of one or more of the colors. Nice work

  5. I really like that you started with the great deconstructed screen print. The use of buttons is unexpected and effective. My eye goes to the circle to the right with the medium blue button. I wonder what it would look like with a either a really dark button or some dark emphasis around the 'circle'. A fun piece that I enjoy looking at.

  6. This is interesting, I liked looking at it enlarged, lots of texture. I agree with some of the other comments, maybe using a darker hue of the same that you have used, for accents....
