This challenge came at an opportune moment: I wanted to experiment with some weaving and shading and was concerned that the result would be boring. Here is the thing. It fits into the "lack of focus" part of the challenge. I want to continue with the piece by adding a focal point, but it's not ready yet and won't be for a while, so I figured I would just post this version.

Your weaving looks wonderful! I like the way the gradations flow from dark to light. It will be exciting to see what you decide to add to this one, I hope you will post it again when you have added a focal point. It's actually very restful to look at just the way it is. Joni

As mentioned above, this has a restful effect. I can picture it in a quiet corner near a water feature.

I really love this piece... can you talk more about the weaving? I did some last year with the JQ but not totally thrilled with the result. How did you get it so tight?

The weaving is so well done, love the way you accomplished the gradations.
This piece is very restful, whether or not you decide to add something I guess depends on what you intend to do with it. Both ways it would be striking. Even just a 'strong' binding would look good.
What would happen if you took out just one row in each direction and replaced it with an accent piece of fabric, giving it an inner border perhaps on just two sides?[I keep seeing black here]
Did you use a cork board and pins to get it so tight and even?

I don't think the result is boring at all. There is a lot of movement to this piece. Please do give us more info on the technique; is it all woven or is there some piecing involved as well? Very intriguing. I vote for leaving it as is, but please post if you modify it.
