Pieces 10 & 11 by Tina Marie Rey

I am finally posting quilt #10 = better late than never. I used washers on a hand dyed and discharged background. I hands sewed them on using red metallic embroidery thread.
It is unnamed.

I then did #11. I used Monet's flowers as inspiration. I had hand marbled the background fabric in an Elin Noble class back in November of 2005. I had held on to it knowing I didn't want to just cut it up. This background is perfect, I think, because it has such a Monet feel to it. Please feel free to critique or comment!

Coffee Dreams

I love coffee. So when this came about I knew I wanted to use coffee filters, which are becoming popular in materials. As I posted, I had no idea what to do, but sitting today, listening to my music, I just got moving with it. They are 4 coffee filters, pressed and folded into quarters. I machine quilted them down on black cotton, then used dark red silk to the sides. I zig zagged the edge of the whole quilt with a great black/red/gold yarn I have. Would love comments.

Purple Haze by Jimmy Hendrix

This is my Purple Haze quilt based on the song by Jimmy Hendrix. The song is about how he is in a purple haze because of a woman - so i did the woman in purples, and the background is a really dark purple. My accent is my fave shade of blue - to outline her curves. Machine quilted. Critique welcome!

Tina's Cropped Still Life

This is my cropped still life. I used all commercial fabrics, but to get the shadowing I used neocolor II watercolor crayons. I think it worked great! I also used a zig zag stitch around the edge to catch a brown and green yarn for some interest instead of a traditional binding. Would love comments. tmrey@echoes.net

Shadows

The first line in James Reese horror book the book of shadows is: I vividly remember my mothers blood. I was hooked after reading that line and read all 468 pages in one weekend. would love critique. No, it is not embellished. Didnt need it, or at least it didnt ask for any.
