I was on vacation when this new challenge was posted. I did not quite understand "Gestalt". This is my idea of gestalt. I did not want to see what others had posted until after I did mine, because I did not want to be influenced by what others had done. I think I'm pretty close. This definitely fits the challenge, and has wonderful movement. Use of negative space is exemplary - a great idea, with an appealing subject. Look forward to seeing the stitching later.
This is a great piece. How did you come up with your pattern? I too find the negative spaces really interesting. The manes give the sense of movement. Well done!

Louise, in answer to your question, I'm taking an art class and we did a piece on "Gestalt". My husband likes the southwestern style and we already have one of those metal pieces similar to this. So that's where my inspiration came from.
