green s-leaves

I finally got into this sight so am posting my challenge piece for July. The tiny sleeves were a new challenge to me. It's all about scale isn't it. The tree is all done with yarn and torn pieces of silk to represent bark. It was a fun project! It measures 18x20" and is finished with a facing.

This is really an interesting piece. I enjoyed the 'sleeve' aspect of your leaves. the yarns make a nice texture. I totally love your quilting!
Glad you were able to post it here.

Congrats on finding your way here. I can identify with that. I really enjoyed the texture and dimension of your piece. Your quilting adds alot to the overall design. The manipulated leaves are unusual and make you wonder what's inside....more butterflies? Donna

Great piece, and wonderful timing for me on the "Greensleeves" aspect - I just got back from a week at an early music camp where one class had a particular focus on that piece of music! You might have added a pun on the word "scale" too!
