I found this picture in Scientific American and knew immediately that I wanted to do it. It seemed to meet the challenge well so this is it. I hand dyed the cloud, fuse pieced the light and used commercially dyed fabric for the dark infinity. Deciding on the amount of quilting for the triangulation effect was most challanging. I am new at art quilting and need all thre input I can get so have at it folks. Thank you!

Hi Pat - What an interesting work! You have done a great job of creating dimension with your use of color. I think your quilting turned out well - the quilting on the upper green section adds to the feeling of roundness. Nice work.

This has a very painterly quality and as I look at it I feel as if I am being drawn inward. You have demonstrated a nice use of perspective.
Hi Pat, oooh, this is lovely! Great depth, feels like a cave or a shell, almost fibinocci porportions. I really like the crisp feel to the greens, creams and black. Very striking and graphically appealing. My only comment is about the fuzzy stuff at the edges of the outer green. It might be a distraction from the crisp precision of the piece as a whole. A side note - cropping the background out of the photo makes a huge difference to the viewer. That's not so important here, but would be if entering a show of course. Wonderful work...can't wait to see more of your work.
