Falling Leaves

Falling Leaves: 9.5 x 12 inchesI tried to achieve depth several ways, by perspective, by layering and adding a dimensional tree in the foreground.

Your quilt is stunning!

The colors are perfect. I especially love the green hill side. The 3d tree gives the scene such life. The weeds/flowers growing along the river bank give the feel that they are gently blowing in the wind. The quilting in the water shows such movement.

I love the three tree trunks and the grass on the far bank.

Your quilt is beautiful.

Wow - this is so attractive to me - it has a balance that adds a lovely sense of peace to the picture. The dimensional tree has so much character.

Hi Katherine,
Wow, this piece is full of life. The shading on the hills and the details in the foreground create alot of depth. Good job!

I love this piece too. I particularly like the blues in the water and sky, and the light green that just glows on the other side of the water. Great job.

Great use of color and fabric choices! I LOVE the color! The use of the greens--grayish greens on the hills and light glowing greens in front--really add depth. The sky and water fabrics suggest sky and water well.

The 3-D tree is wonderful! The only thing I would like to see is highlights as bright as the glowing green in the wildflower patch in the foreground, in the yellow/gold and the pink flowers, and then some more of that wonderful light green (there's some in the grass in front of and to the left of the tree). Could be with Lumiere paint, some sparkly thread, or small beads.
