Started right away. Worked hard. Didn't finish. In my defense, we had a family emergency. This piece is about 15" x 18", raw edge applique and hand embroidery. I enjoyed all the articles about what creates the illusion of motion in art and I tried to freeze motion. I don't think it works as well as it did in my sketch. Maybe when the rest of the embroidery and the quilting are added.

Great movement in this piece. The colors are wonderful and add to the movement.
I certainly think that you achieved movement. This quilt is wonderful.
I look forward to the finished quilt.
So cute!!!! Those little feet just jumping.... nothing like children at play.
Always on the move.

Hi Cheryl
I love how you put prints together, it's fascinating! There is very much a sense of joyful movement. You've got alot of diagonal and curved lines that accomplish that and the background fabric adds to the movement.
I hope you're planning on an library exhibit of your children pieces...it would be a perfect venue for you.

Your quilt is full of fun. I like how you've used the different prints, the fun prints and colors add to the fun feel of the piece. I wonder why you chose a solid color for the center girl, and prints for the other children. Perhaps you could give her a pair of shorts or bloomers for a bit more modesty.
