Autumn Haiku

8 ¾” x 11 ½”

This is a little one, in part inspired by a recent workshop in color, so I settled on an analogous color scheme of warm colors.   I used Sulky multi-colored thread with some of the fancy stitches on my machine both as applique edges and decorative additions.  I wrote the haiku using a red Micron pen.

I welcome your comments.

I really like the strong diagonal elements which keep your eye moving around the quilt. Also, the white(ish) color in the middle sort of references winter, to me.

Looks like you had fun playing with some of the decorative stitches. Something we should all try. I like the analogous fall color scheme which certainly tells us winter looms. Not too soon, as the tree is still wearing its leaves. Are we ever ready for winter? Not in Alaska.

I love the fall colors. We've had a lovely one this year. You've used stitch and composition well.

This fairly glows with the warmth of fall...with maybe a little nip in the air?

I agree with Cherie, the warm colors of Fall with a nip in the air. What if you would have used some greens too? Just a thought.
Nice Haiku, lovely work.

Warm, autumn colors reflect your Haiku perfectly. I like that you included your poem on your piece.

Hi Tobi, This is a perfect reflection of your Haiku and I love that you put the words on the front. Your use of the commercially printed leaf patterns works really well. The stitching adds additional interest. Terrific job.

Great use of color! Being able to read the haiku is a nice feature.

Your color scheme definitely speaks to fall. I love the leaf shpe on the right, is it stitched? The stitiching on the binding adds more interest.
