Challenge 41 - Transformations

I've posted my Transformations quilt about 14 inches by 21 inches.

Honestly the fractured background was the hardest part - I pieced together and cut a few times an abstract tree bark. I then beaded a caterpillar in the lower right corner and a moth in the upper right corner for my winged creature. I picked this moth because of it's complimentary colors of orange and blue.

As always lots of fun

Wonderful piece with an irregular border. With its muted colors I think that's just what it needed. The butterfly and caterpillar really work well with the muted brown background. It almost appears to be fences and fields. Love it!

fun quilt! Your eye never stops. It just goes round and round the picture. I love the caterpillar and butterfly. You can just imagine the cacoon sdomewhere.

great background and color contrast! Love the interest and I agree, reminds me of fences. I'd think a small bit of orange toward the lower half would move the eye down through the piece, maybe orange buttons or beads in a flower shape? I like it alot!

I really like the abstract feel of this piece, as well as the colors. I didn't notice the caterpillar until I read your description; love it!

Wonderfully abstract, and yet somehow feels like a pastoral scene stretching out to the distant horizon. What if you were to add some tiny french knots or beads in a bright orange to the caterpillar (only a couple, and very tiny) to compliment the orange of the moth? It's really superb as is though.

I love the movement in the background and that shade of orange is a perfect complement to the browns. A piece I could spend some time looking at.
