to create this piece. I was very frightened of the challange and had decided not to do it because I was so confused. Now I am so glad I decided to give it a go. My colors are yellow, orange and purple. I'm afraid my camera doesn't see colors quite true. His head is really all black not black and green and his wings are lavender and purple not blue. Yes! This is just wonderful! There is so much dimension in this piece. Your penguin just pops forward. Your fabrics and quilting add such texture and interest to both the bird and the background. The fracture pieces radiate out from the penguin adding importance to him. Terrific job!

I am attracted to the golds and yellows on the body, and also the white background repeating the beak shape, and extending across the piece. Glad you took the challenge! One of my favorites.

I really like your color choices and the fracturing. I would say you really hit this challenge dead on. Love bit of purple in the background, the the 'shaft of lift' that ends with green on his head. A very pleasing beautiful composition.
Cool - pun totally intended. Is it appliqued? Love the different types of fabric used and you quilting is very fine.

Pat, your penguin is exquisite! Such a bold statement for a very timely cause. It is interesting how that little strip of purple does such a great job of adding contrast and directing the viewers eye to the penguin! Awesome!
