New techniques that I used:- painting over acrylic paints with a transparent black Setacolor. The acrylic acted as a resist so only the unpainted areas took the black paint. I love this way of working.
- adding Golden's mica chips in gel medium for some celestial glitz.

Wow! This really looks like it has depth. Very cool. I wish I could touch it because it looks like it has great texture, too. I like the blotches of color in the background; very evocative of other celestials bodies "out there". I don't know what mica chips are; I'm going to have to look those up.
I really love the way this piece draws you in. I especially like the placement of the largest element and the use of the foiling. Very effective. The detail - with its crop is in itself really interesting! Good job!!
This is marvelous, Gerrie. I often think stuff like foil is gimmicky but it is PERFECT for this piece. Excellent job of cropping, too. Great job!
